Ketley Brick Blue Quarry

Located in the coastal village of Dalkey overlooking Dublin Bay, The Lookout is a contemporary residential development by Henry J Lyons. The project combines clean architectural lines with warm, tactile materials to create an elegant and welcoming environment for residents.

Within the shared spaces, carefully considered material choices introduce texture and character while complementing the contemporary architecture of the development.

Ketley Brick Blue Quarry was selected for its rich tonal variation, textured surface and distinctive architectural character. Its deep blue tones provide a sophisticated contrast against the cleaner, more contemporary finishes used throughout the interiors.

The natural variation within the brick creates depth across the surface, ensuring that the material has a strong visual presence without overpowering the wider design.

The Ketley Brick Blue Quarry was used within the communal seating and reception areas, creating distinctive feature surfaces throughout the shared spaces.

The textured brick works particularly well against the clean architectural detailing, introducing a more tactile and natural element to the interior. Its traditional material character provides an interesting contrast with the contemporary setting, helping to create spaces that feel both modern and established.

The finished spaces combine contemporary architecture with the warmth and authenticity of natural, textured materials. Ketley Brick Blue Quarry adds depth, character and a strong sense of craftsmanship to the communal areas while maintaining the refined aesthetic of the wider development.

The result is a sophisticated residential environment that feels welcoming and understated, with carefully selected materials playing an important role in defining the character of the shared spaces.
