Kodak London has been reimagined as a contemporary workspace while retaining the character and identity of its historic architectural setting. The project brings together the building's industrial heritage with a modern approach to design, creating a distinctive environment for today's businesses and creative communities.
XO Tile supplied a carefully considered selection of Atlas Concorde surfaces for the project, combining large-format tiles, slab installations and external materials to create a cohesive material palette throughout the building.
The interior specification features Prism Cotton and Prism Fog, selected for their refined stone-inspired appearance and specified in both large-format tile and slab formats. Their soft, neutral tones provide a sophisticated architectural backdrop, allowing the scale and character of the original building to remain prominent.
Boost Stone Smoke was also used in a 600 × 1200 mm format, introducing a deeper stone-inspired tone and additional contrast to the material palette. For external areas, Boost Grey was selected to extend the contemporary stone aesthetic beyond the interior spaces.
Large-format tiles and slabs play an important role throughout the Kodak London project. The substantial formats create a more continuous appearance across expansive areas, reducing visual interruptions and allowing the natural movement of the surfaces to become part of the architectural design.
The combination of large-format tiles and slabs required careful specification and installation, demonstrating the technical expertise involved in delivering high-quality surfaces within a major commercial project.
The result is a modern workspace that respects the identity of the Kodak London building while introducing a refined and contemporary approach to materiality. XO Tile's involvement demonstrates its ability to supply and support technically demanding large-format and slab specifications for high-profile commercial projects.
