Fitzwilliam 28 is the prestigious new home of SMBC Aviation Capital, Ireland’s largest and the world’s second-largest aircraft leasing company. Officially opened as the company’s global headquarters, the development represents a striking statement of intent—modern, forward-looking, and designed for the future of global aviation.

Henry J Lyons Architects were commissioned to design a headquarters that could embody the scale and ambition of SMBC Aviation Capital. Their vision was to deliver an environment that balances elegance with performance, providing spaces where employees can thrive and clients are welcomed into an atmosphere of prestige and sophistication. The result is a contemporary workplace that reflects both the company’s growing portfolio and its global outlook.

To complement this architectural vision, XO Tile supplied a carefully curated palette of materials that add depth, durability, and aesthetic refinement to the interiors. Lume tiles were selected for their artisanal character, with glossy finishes and tonal variation that interact beautifully with natural and artificial light, creating spaces alive with texture and vibrancy.

Eco Stone, inspired by the enduring beauty of natural stone, grounds the design with a timeless surface that merges luxury with technical strength. Its versatility ensures that high-footfall areas retain an elegant appearance without compromise on performance. Floodston, with its contemporary stone-effect design, offers a bold yet understated finish—delivering a sense of modernity while maintaining a natural connection to material authenticity.

Adding a distinctive layer of detail, KitKat mosaics introduce rhythm and sophistication to feature areas. Their slim, elongated lines provide a tactile surface that contrasts elegantly with the larger-format porcelain, creating design accents that lend personality and refinement to key architectural moments within the headquarters.

Together, these materials create an interior that is not only resilient and functional but also inspiring—spaces that communicate innovation, quality, and a strong sense of identity. The new SMBC Aviation Capital headquarters at Fitzwilliam 28 stands as more than just an office: it is a symbol of ambition and excellence in the heart of Dublin, where world-class design and craftsmanship combine to support one of the aviation industry’s leading global organisations.
