White Mosaic

Located on Grafton Street, Bewley’s Grafton Street Café is one of Dublin’s most iconic hospitality destinations, celebrated for its historic character, architectural detailing and timeless café atmosphere. The interior combines heritage features with carefully considered contemporary finishes, creating a space that feels both elegant and welcoming within the heart of the city.

A white mosaic floor tile was selected as a defining feature within the project, introducing texture, brightness and subtle detailing throughout the interior. The mosaic surface complements the historic character of the café while enhancing the light and openness of the surrounding spaces. Its refined finish and delicate pattern add visual interest without overpowering the timeless aesthetic of the interior.

The soft white tones of the mosaic flooring create a clean and sophisticated foundation within the café, balancing seamlessly with the rich architectural features and warm material palette used throughout the space. The detailed format of the mosaic introduces craftsmanship and texture, contributing to the layered and characterful atmosphere that defines the interior.

Applied across key floor areas within the café, the mosaic tile enhances the sense of movement and continuity throughout the space while maintaining a refined and understated appearance. The interaction between the tiled surface, natural light and surrounding finishes creates an inviting environment that feels timeless and full of character.

Selected for both its visual elegance and durability, the white mosaic flooring contributes to an interior that balances contemporary refinement with the heritage identity of the building. Careful attention to detailing and craftsmanship ensures cohesion throughout the project, allowing the material palette to integrate seamlessly within the wider architectural vision of the café.

The result is a sophisticated hospitality interior where traditional character and contemporary materiality come together to create an enduring and iconic Dublin café experience.
